Our bookstore is staffed by over seventy volunteers. Each of them happily gives a few hours each month. They work as a team and enjoy a friendly environment.
The FOL bookstore provides significant funding to our Henderson County Public Library. FOL is a non-profit 501(c)3; organized in 1957. The mission of our library is supported by the FOL and our bookstore volunteers.
Place books on our shelves and keeps them organized. Two to four hours per week. Not during store hours. A little lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Shopping support to our customers: give a warm welcome, answer questions, help locate material and check-out. During hours (Noon to 4 PM Tues, Thurs, or Sat). Schedule one afternoon @ 4 hrs/wk. Standing with breaks. Limited lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Volunteers serve when called. No set schedule. Contacted occasionally to sort/price books, make a home pickup of donated books, or fill in for unavailable volunteers.
